Current Statistics 
All roads on the Logan County Highway system currently have a maximum weight limit of 80,000 pounds. This is a result of recent legislation and took effect January 1, 2010.
Likewise, most roads on the township road system have a maximum weight limit of 80,000 pounds. Some roads have been posted to a lower weight restriction.
Logan County will do its best to accommodate the heavier trucks allowed by this recent legislation. However, only 1% of the roads in Logan County have been constructed to withstand these heavier loads. To protect roads during the freeze/thaw period, all County Highways and most township roads are still restricted from year-round hauling by seasonal weight restrictions.
Seasonal weight limits are in effect during the freeze/thaw cycle from January 20th until April 18th. A permit is required for any hauling during this period in excess of the posted weight limits. Permits will only be valid when the road bases are dry enough or frozen enough to support heavy loads. Please refer to the HIGHWAY CALENDAR or contact the office to see when seasonal weight permits will be valid.

Several of the bridges in Logan County have been posted upon recommendation from IDOT Bureau of Bridges and Structures. Load limits on these bridges will vary depending on the current condition of the structure, and the design of the structure. Information on these bridges can be found below.
