Subject: Home Repair Fraud / Burglary

Sheriff Mark Landers has been made aware of an incident that occurred on May 1st, 2020 in rural Logan County. A citizen had an unknown male named Rob and female named Jessica arrive at their home and introduce themselves as being in the construction business. They presented a flyer to the citizen who remembered seeing a 312 area code on the phone number listed for their business. The citizen, who was looking to do household repairs, allowed them to come inside to give an estimate on repairs. While the homeowner was busy speaking with the female, the male went to other parts of the home / property to conduct his estimate. The homeowner later discovered the male had actually burglarized their home while he was supposedly conducting the inspection.

The male "Rob" was described as a white male approximately 6'6", heavy build, and short white hair. The female "Jessica" was described as a white female approximately 5'5", 130 pounds, with shoulder length brown hair. Both subjects left the home in a newer model gray truck.

The Sheriff wants to remind citizens that if you have suspicious people come to your property, you can contact Logan Dispatch at (217) 732-4159 and request the assistance of Law Enforcement.
