BY ORDER OF THE CIRCUIT COURT

 

PROPER DRESS REQUIRED

 

When entering a courtroom, an appropriate dress code will be observed by all participants, including litigants, witnesses, jurors and spectators.

The following is NOT appropriate dress:

  • SHORTS ** CUT-OFFS ** TANK TOPS
  • HALTER TOPS ** MESH SHIRTS
  • SHIRTS WITH
  • INAPPROPRIATE OR OFFENSIVE LOGOS,
  • PICTURES OR WRITING

 

Notwithstanding the above, if a Judge determines your attire is not appropriate and you are a participant, your case may be continued, or you may be asked to return in proper attire.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office is seeking applications for the following positions:

Patrol Deputy

If you are looking for an exciting career in Law Enforcement and want to be hired by a very progressive and professional agency, please look over the requirements and complete a written test with the National Testing Network. To fill out a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com. Once on the site, select the Law Enforcement tab and scroll to Illinois where you will find the Logan County Sheriff's Office. There is a $49 fee for the written test. 

Upon completion of the exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Logan County Sheriff's Office. Candidates who attain a passing score on the exam may be invited to continue in the testing process which includes an oral board interview, thorough background investigation, polygraph test, psychological test, and a drug test. Candidates who are not currently certified Illinois Law Enforcement Officers must successfully pass the POWER test (http://www.ptb.illinois.gov/media/1320/power.pdf) in order to be accepted into the training academy.

Sheriff Landers is a Logan County native and has been a law enforcement officer for over 24 years. Sheriff Landers graduated from Lincoln Community High School in 1986  and enlisted in the United States Army. After 8 years of active duty service, Sheriff Landers returned to Logan County where he worked for the Illinois Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer before being hired as a police officer with the Atlanta Police Department in 1995. Sheriff Landers was hired by the Logan County Sheriff's Office in 2002 where he has worked as a patrol deputy, narcotics investigator, patrol supervisor, Detective, and Chief Deputy. Sheriff Landers became a D.A.R.E. instructor for the Sheriff’s Office in 2016 and began teaching the DARE curriculum to our local elementary students.Sheriff Landers was elected in 2018 and continues to serve the citizens of Logan County.
